From the psychotic to the sublime…

The opening performances of HotHouse demonstrated just why HotHouse is enjoyed by so many of you. Firstly Sheffield based Point Blank Theatre Company’s production of An Evening with Psychosis proved an instant hit, with a full house attending Friday nights powerful performance. Almost half the audience then participated in a lively debate about the themes explored in the play and attitudes to mental health issues.

Then on Saturday at the beautiful Minster Church of St. George, the Choir of the Chapel Royal, conducted by Andrew Gant and accompanied by Oliver Waterer on the organ, delighted over 200 people with a glorious programme including choral works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Purcell, Handel and others. The evening culminated with a breathtaking performance of Elgar’s Te Deum.
One delighted audience member described the concert as ‘ simply stunning.’
