Following last years hugely successful 3 night run of Lucky Sods we are delighted to welcome back Hull Truck Theatre. Me and Me Dad is written by Doncaster lad Nick Lane and is set in Doncaster.

Following the recent death of his mother, Andy moves back into the family home in Doncaster to look after his Dad. They both struggle to adapt as they fight memories and each other whilst creating mayhem in the kitchen. It’s a wonderful, moving and very funny production with beautifully judged performances. Tickets are available for performances from Monday 8 March to Wednesday 10 March at 7.30pm, so don’t miss it. And remember tickets for anyone aged 12 – 18 are only £5, so it really is a cracking night out for the whole family.

When Andy Green’s mum dies, Andy does the decent thing – he takes a month off work and moves back home with his dad to teach him how to cook. Fighting memories – and occasionally each other – and risking the sanity of friends and neighbours, not to mention Andy’s new girlfriend, the pair boil pans, set grills on fire and worse in an attempt to prevent a diet of pickled beetroot and jam sandwiches. Can their relationship survive? Or is this one kitchen nightmare even Gordon Ramsay couldn’t fix?

At the end of the first of seven sold out performances an emotional audience member threw her arms around one of the female actors after the performance and said ‘ my husband was a miner, it was just like that, it was so emotional.’ Tickets are still available for the touring performances from March 23rd onwards at Bentley Pavilion, Rossington Welfare, Hatfield Main Club, Bullcroft Memorial Hall, and the Ivanhoe Centre.
